These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of BookGlints (the "Service"), a Chrome browser extension and associated web services operated by BookGlints ("we," "us," or "our"). By installing or using BookGlints, you agree to these Terms.
BookGlints is a Chrome browser extension that scans publicly available book reviews on Goodreads and StoryGraph using artificial intelligence to identify user-defined content flags, tropes, and complaints. The Service helps readers make informed decisions before purchasing or reading books.
You must be at least 13 years old to use BookGlints. By using the Service, you represent that you meet this requirement.
You agree to use BookGlints only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms. You must not:
BookGlints and all associated content, features, and functionality are owned by BookGlints and are protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works based on the Service without our express written permission.
BookGlints accesses publicly available content from Goodreads and StoryGraph. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Goodreads, StoryGraph, Amazon, or any other third-party service. Use of those platforms is subject to their own terms of service.
Payments are processed by Paddle.com. By making a purchase, you also agree to Paddle's terms of service and privacy policy.
BookGlints is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that results obtained from using the Service will be accurate or reliable. AI-generated analysis may contain errors or omissions.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BookGlints shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the Service, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes via email or through the Service. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable international law. Any disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration or in a court of competent jurisdiction.

BookGlints uses Google's Gemini API, on a paid, billed tier, to process review text. Under Google's terms for paid API usage, your review data is not used to train Google's models, regardless of your location. Review content sent for analysis is otherwise subject to Google's privacy policy and terms of service. We do not use your review data to train our own models.

We want you to be satisfied with BookGlints. This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds are available.
If you are not satisfied with your BookGlints subscription, you may request a full refund within 3 days of your initial purchase, provided you have used fewer than 10 scans during that period. After 3 days, or if more than 10 scans have been used, subscription payments are non-refundable. You will continue to have access to the Service until the end of your billing period.
Annual subscriptions are non-refundable except within the first 3 days of initial purchase and fewer than 10 scans used, as described above. We recommend trying a monthly subscription before committing to an annual plan.
